Ambassador Reassures Vietnamese Students on Australian Visa Delays

Australian Ambassador addresses visa delays for Vietnamese students

The delays in visa processing have caused uncertainty among Vietnamese students, impacting their travel plans and enrollment deadlines.

Concerns have been raised by Vietnamese students attempting to study in Australia due to prolonged visa approvals, leading to confusion and worry among applicants.

One student expressed, “I am really concerned as the visa approval process is much slower than expected, and I am unsure of the duration of this delay.”

With flights booked and academic terms approaching, students are increasingly anxious about the timely receipt of their visas.

Australian Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski stressed the significant role education plays in the partnership between Australia and Vietnam, highlighting the long history of Vietnamese students studying in Australia, with a considerable number of alumni and scholarship recipients.

Reflecting on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ambassador acknowledged the challenges faced by Australia, leading to a reassessment of the visa management system.

Improving the integrity of the visa system, adjustments to the student visa program have been made to prioritize genuine students’ access to quality education in Australia. Consequently, visa processing times have increased.

Emphasizing the importance of submitting a complete application with English-translated documents, Ambassador Goledzinowski urged applicants to ensure accuracy to expedite processing.

Regarding the longer processing times, the Ambassador provided information on global visa processing timelines and encouraged understanding from students and their families, highlighting the necessity of ensuring a robust system for the future benefit of Vietnamese students.
