On July 19, the Ministry of Public Security, in conjunction with the Supreme People’s Procuracy and the Ho Chi Minh City Police, raided the home of Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Loan, the General Director of Quoc Cuong Gia Lai Company, situated on Tran Quoc Thao Street in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
Government vehicles with green license plates and a large number of police officers were visible outside Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Loan’s residence. The vicinity of her family’s villa was sealed off by authorities while law enforcement officers and officials from the Supreme People’s Procuracy conducted their investigation inside.
This search is part of an ongoing probe into infractions at the Vietnam Rubber Group, Ba Ria Rubber Company, Dong Nai Rubber Company, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and other affiliated entities. Specifically, it pertains to violations at the project site on 39-39B Ben Van Don, Ward 12, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City.
Thus far, a minimum of 16 individuals have faced prosecution for various transgressions linked to the case, resulting in substantial losses of assets due to the conversion of public property into private land.
Those charged include three former executives of the Vietnam Rubber Group and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, a former Deputy Head of the Steering Committee 9 and Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.
