The Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) recently revealed a festival in collaboration with the Hanoi Opera House and the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB). Named “The Art of Concerto,” this festival is dedicated to showcasing the richness of Polish culture and allows viewers to engage with works from some of the finest classical composers.
The festival kicks off with a concert on October 17, featuring remarkable pieces such as Neopolis Concerto for violin and string orchestra by Paweł Łukaszewski, and Marcelo Nisinma’s 13 Variations on a Polish Melody for violin, cello, and chamber orchestra.
A standout performance during the concert will be the Concerto for Piano in A Minor, Op. 17, created by the notable Polish composer and pianist Ignacy Jan Paderewski. This piano concerto is celebrated for its stunning beauty and deep emotional resonance.
The second evening of the festival will present works by esteemed composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Joseph Haydn, and Henryk Wieniawski. The lineup includes Bach’s Concerto for Violin and Oboe in C Minor, BWV 1060R (1736), a definitive work in his repertoire.
The Baltic Neopolis Orchestra, known for its historical significance and numerous accomplishments in the realm of classical music, will grace the stage as a significant performer at the festival. They will also present Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in D Minor, Op. 22, a romantic piece praised for its lyrical qualities and emotive power.
