The Bac Giang Province People’s Council has removed Ms. Le Thi Thu Hong from her position as Chairwoman, along with Mr. Le Anh Duong, who was Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Mr. Le O Pich, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
On October 8, the 20th session of the 19th People’s Council of Bac Giang Province was held, primarily discussing various critical issues, including personnel changes.
During this session, they officially dismissed Ms. Le Thi Thu Hong from her role as Chairwoman of the People’s Council and also relieved her of her duties as a member of the 19th Council.
Mr. Le Anh Duong was also dismissed as Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and released from his responsibilities as a member of the 19th People’s Council, with his retirement taking effect on October 1.
Furthermore, Mr. Le O Pich was removed from his position as Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
Previously, the Central Inspection Commission (CIC) had conducted a review during its 46th session regarding violations within the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee and recommended disciplinary actions.
The CIC reported that the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee breached democratic centralism principles and operational protocols. This lack of accountability and ineffective leadership led to various violations by numerous individuals and organizations involved in investment projects managed by Thuan An Group within the province.
These breaches had serious implications, risking substantial losses to the State assets and finances, fostering negative public sentiment, and undermining the integrity of both the Party and local government, which justified the need for disciplinary measures.
The CIC found Mr. Le Anh Duong accountable for these violations and issued him a warning.
On October 7, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed the decision for disciplinary action against Mr. Le Anh Duong.
