A new night-time economic project is on the horizon at the Sky Garden commercial and food street in Tan Phong Ward, as revealed by the District 7 People’s Committee on July 30.
Part of a pilot initiative to boost the night-time economy tied to local tourism, this project is one of three selected areas approved in November 2023 by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. The other two areas include the Ban Nguyet (Crescent) Lake – Anh Sao (Starlight) Bridge area in Tan Phong Ward and the N11 Road – Ngan Hang (Bank) Residential area in Tan Thuan Tay Ward.
Spanning 2.6 hectares, the Sky Garden commercial and food street will accommodate 222 establishments, comprising 125 food service outlets, 40 beauty care facilities, 32 lodging places, and 25 commercial and service enterprises. Operating hours for these businesses are set from 6 PM to midnight every day.
Nguyen Thi Be Ngoan, Vice Chairwoman of the District 7 People’s Committee, mentioned that this location was chosen for the project as it does not restrict vehicle traffic, but rather focuses on enhancing existing activities along the street.
For the convenience of businesses, the District 7 People’s Committee is facilitating the completion of legal paperwork, such as business registration certificates, tax registration, and compliance with food safety and security regulations.
Moreover, branding will be standardized for over 200 businesses in the commercial and food street area, with a distinctive welcome gate at the entrance featuring a mascot symbolizing the area.
