Do Hong Quan also recognized several hurdles, like the absence of monumental works reflecting the current spirit.
He noted that market influences and foreign trends motivate some artists to produce works that lack depth, turning instead towards commercial interests, which undermines Vietnamese cultural integrity.
Moreover, he pointed out the limited succession of artistic talent, with fewer young creators stepping forward to carry on the legacy left by their predecessors. Existing training programs for emerging artists are not sufficiently robust.
He encouraged artists to strive for meaningful creations that contribute significant ideological and artistic value, fulfilling their duties to their country and community.
Nguyen Cong Bay, Major General and People’s Artist, emphasized the significant impact of cultural contributions from the armed forces in fostering enriching cultural atmospheres. He advocated for the enhancement of cultural works to benefit both military personnel and the wider public.
He also highlighted the importance of utilizing cultural venues such as museums, libraries, and theaters to better connect artistic expressions with audiences.
Since its establishment in 2023, Ho Guom Theater has emerged as a vital platform, showcasing artistic expressions from Vietnam and around the globe.
People’s Artist Bui Cong Duy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, addressed the necessity of attracting talent and refining training in specialized artistic disciplines.
He mentioned ongoing initiatives by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to recommend government policies that support specialized art training.
However, he pointed out existing policy gaps, proposing updates to the legal framework to enhance support for arts education and growth.
Comprehensive strategies to attract, aid, and cultivate artistic talent were recommended, with emphasis on appropriate benefits and recognition for educators, artists, and cultural contributors.
