Daily Livestreams and Connection with Fans

Every evening from 7 to 8 pm, the twins engage with their audience through livestreams, where they sing and share stories. Their followers appreciate their beautiful voices and the uplifting atmosphere they create, focusing more on their talent than their appearance.

Becoming Known Through Photography

Huy and Hung gained recognition a few years ago through a photo project titled “Twins” by photographer Do Manh Cuong. After facing many challenges, they discovered their musical abilities and embraced a healthy lifestyle.

Background and Early Life

The twins, who have albinism, come from a humble background in Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province, where their parents work as farmers.

As children, Huy only noticed slight issues with his vision, but by ages 5-6, he became aware of how they were different when other children mocked them.

“We looked at ourselves and others and started to see that we were not like most people. As we grew older, the teasing hurt even more,” Huy remembers. “Since our condition was rare, other kids kept their distance.”

Challenges in School

Throughout school, the twins often sat in the back to avoid scrutiny, struggling to see and hear their teachers, resulting in empty notebooks by the end of the day. Their parents faced complaints about their academic performance being a burden on the class.

Due to financial struggles, their mother left for work in Laos, while their father toiled to support the family. Wanting to lessen their parents’ burden, the twins chose to leave school after seventh grade.

Finding Purpose Through Music

Amidst a life of hardship, Huy feared they might fade away due to their condition. It wasn’t until receiving a musical instrument as a gift from Do Manh Cuong that they found motivation. “When we were 10, a devastating flood destroyed our home. Cuong came to help, staying with us and capturing moments for the well-known ‘Twins’ collection,” Huy said.

Musical Journey Begins

Cuong recognized their musical talents and gifted them an instrument, which changed their lives. Huy took music lessons at church, learning to navigate the notes despite his vision challenges.

Determined to succeed, Huy honed his musical skills and taught his brother as well. After leaving school, they received their first performance invitation at a wedding.

“We were surprised by the love we received from people, which led to more performance opportunities and income,” Huy reflected.

Creating Online Content

With their earnings, the twins purchased a smartphone and created a YouTube channel, eventually saving for a laptop to host livestreams. Their nighttime schedule accommodates their work as they entertain and interact with fans after a long day.

For Huy and Hung, music is a wellspring of strength that supports them through life’s challenges. Their passion lies in playing, singing, and connecting with their audience.
