Arabesque Vietnam partnered with Hoi An to present “Rom” (Straw) in the vast rice fields known as “The Heart of the Rice Fields in Hoi An.” The location in the Truong Le block of Cam Chau ward set the stage for this unique dance performance from August 22 to 25.
Against the stunning backdrop of the expansive field, bathed in a warm, golden hue by the setting sun, audiences were treated to a contemporary dance spectacle.
“Rom” is a tribute to the simple yet profound beauty of Hoi An’s rural landscape during the harvest season. It seamlessly weaves together traditional folk music and top-notch contemporary dance, crafted by choreographer Nguyen Tan Loc and musical director Duc Tri, resulting in a mesmerizing cultural display.
With Loc’s profound affection for Hoi An and his extensive background in international choreography, he has developed a tourism product that authentically captures the essence of Hoi An.
The “Rom” performance aligns with the vision of the Hoi An City People’s Committee to position the city as an eco-cultural-tourism center. This endeavor aims to creatively showcase and capitalize on Hoi An’s cultural and artistic heritage, cementing its reputation as a UNESCO Creative City.
