Honoring Excellence: 34 Senior Vietnamese Military Leaders Recognized with Esteemed Medals

Ceremony Honors Vietnamese Military Leaders

On December 13, a significant event took place as the Central Military Commission along with the Ministry of National Defense commemorated military leadership by presenting prestigious medals to prominent officials within the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).

This ceremony marked the lead-up to two pivotal anniversaries: the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People’s National Defense Festival. During this event, 34 distinguished military officers were awarded the Military Exploit Order and the Order of National Defense for their exceptional service in enhancing the armed forces, fortifying national defense, and protecting the country.

General Phan Van Giang, the Defense Minister, conferred the Third-Class Military Exploit Order upon ten leaders associated with the Ministry of National Defense, as well as the General Staff and General Political Department.

Additionally, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet and General Nguyen Tan Cuong awarded First-Class, Second-Class, and Third-Class National Defense Orders to 24 commanding officers from different military units.

General Phan Van Giang congratulated the honorees, explaining that these accolades represent the Party and State’s acknowledgment of their hard work and commitment. He remarked that this recognition signifies a major achievement not only for the awardees but for the entire Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and all military personnel.

This medal ceremony carries profound meaning as it comes just nine days before the significant anniversaries, allowing for reflection on the valiant history of the Vietnamese Army. This force has faced various challenges and made considerable sacrifices to secure victories, characterized by its loyalty to the Party, commitment to the populace, and resilience against adversities.

The Vietnam People’s Army has shown consistent growth and unwavering dedication as a revolutionary entity, embodying the values of service to the people. It remains a reliable and dedicated force for the Party, State, and citizens.

General Phan Van Giang highlighted the expectation for senior military leaders to maintain exceptional discipline and be exemplars for others, focusing on their ongoing development to tackle emerging challenges. He encouraged them to contribute to the revolutionary mission of the Party and the progress of the nation as Vietnam enters a new chapter of development.
