Hanoi aims to set up a Public Administration Service Center to replace the current scattered administrative service units to save about VND 231 billion (over $9 million) annually.
A proposal by the Hanoi People’s Committee suggests the creation of a central Public Administration Service Center to streamline public services in the city and overcome the inefficiencies of the current setup.
The current system has 677 decentralized service units spread across different entities, making it inconvenient for residents and businesses to navigate multiple locations for administrative procedures.
The proposed center seeks to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability by consolidating services in one place, reducing travel time and costs for citizens and businesses.
The integration of technology into administrative processes is expected to boost productivity and improve overall service delivery for greater resident and business satisfaction.
The Public Administration Service Center will operate under the Hanoi People’s Committee, situated at 102 Hai Ba Trung Street, Cua Nam Ward, Hoan Kiem District, and is planned to commence operations in October 2024.
By consolidating the existing 677 service units into 30 branches, the initiative aims to optimize resources. Excess staff will be redeployed to other areas, reducing the number of civil servants handling administrative tasks.
The initiative is anticipated to save VND 231 billion annually through reduced infrastructure costs, maintenance, and staff salaries, enabling the reallocation of resources for technology upgrades and addressing salary concerns.
