Mourners Travel to Hanoi to Pay Respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong
People from different parts of the country and beyond traveled to Hanoi to honor General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong after his passing. Mourners who had journeyed long distances felt a sense of relief as they were allowed to pay their respects.
Truong Thi Kim Oanh, a retired officer from Kon Tum province, flew to Hanoi to honor the General Secretary. She admired his leadership and booked a flight immediately upon hearing the news of his passing.
Vu Thi Hoa, who lives in Belarus, traveled back to Vietnam after 37 years to mourn General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. She was deeply moved by his virtues and decided to pay her respects in person.
Among the mourners was 91-year-old Nguyen Thi Tien from Quang Nam province, who traveled to Hanoi with her children to honor the General Secretary whom she greatly admired.
Ha Vu Kim, inspired by her mother’s stories about the General Secretary’s integrity, accompanied her father to pay respect as a gesture of admiration.
Nguyen Thi Thu Ngan brought her children to the funeral hall to show respect, queuing for hours to enter and pay respects to the General Secretary.
Nguyen Thi Ngan, a businesswoman, shared an anecdote about interacting with a relative of the General Secretary which left a lasting impression. She believes that witnessing the emotional scenes at the funeral will help her children appreciate the General Secretary’s values.
