Nguyen Hue Flower Street Opens for Tet 2025
On the night of January 27, marking the 28th day of the lunar calendar, Nguyen Hue Flower Street welcomed the public, initiating the Tet 2025 festivities.
This year’s event showcases the theme “Magnificent country, peaceful spring”, reflecting Vietnam’s cultural vibrancy and hopes for prosperity.
Key figures attended the opening ceremony, including Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Central Party, and Nguyen Van Nen, member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, along with other significant leaders from various government sectors.
The flower display is organized into three distinct areas: Unity, Transformation, and Development, each presenting the narrative of Vietnam’s evolution through beautiful floral designs and innovative installations.
At the entrance, visitors can see the impressive snake mascots, Kim Ty (golden snake) and Ngan Ty (silver snake), symbolizing the Snake zodiac for the year.
At the conclusion of the street is a striking 50-meter-long and 10-meter-high sculpture of the Lady Snake, featuring traditional southern elements such as a khan ran scarf and a conical hat.
Additionally, over 90 unique snake-themed sculptures contribute to the lively atmosphere, each displaying diverse artistic expressions.
Since its inception in 2004, Nguyen Hue Flower Street has become an essential cultural emblem of Ho Chi Minh City during Tet, attracting large crowds who come to take photos with the magnificent Kim Ty and Ngan Ty mascots.
The flower street will be accessible to the public from 7 PM on January 27 until 9 PM on February 2, the 5th day of the lunar month, offering a remarkable experience filled with festive joy for both residents and visitors.
