Northern Vietnam Anticipates Brief Warmth Ahead of Incoming Cold Front

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has released a new 10-day weather outlook for Vietnam from January 30 to February 8, 2025.

Experts indicate that the high-pressure system in the region will remain consistent but will begin to weaken and shift to the east. A new cold front is anticipated around February 2-3, followed by a brief stabilization period before another decline.

Additionally, a wind convergence at approximately 1,500 meters above Northern Vietnam is expected to form around the same dates.

Consequently, Northern Vietnam, including Hanoi, will likely experience light rain today (January 30), with some sunshine later in the day.

Between January 31 and February 2, fog and drizzle will be common, especially in low-lying and coastal regions, where mist and light rain are expected. The nights and early mornings will be quite cool.

A significant weather change is forecasted starting from the night of February 2, bringing scattered rain showers. Following this, temperatures are predicted to drop sharply, with mountainous areas facing severe cold.

In the North-Central region, light rain is forecasted intermittently from January 30 to February 2. Morning fog will begin on January 31, giving way to sunnier afternoons. From February 3-4, scattered showers will return, with a few dry days afterward. This area will also see cold temperatures, particularly during early mornings and nights.

Central Vietnam is expected to see isolated light rain from January 30 to February 2, with predominantly sunny afternoons starting January 31. However, from February 3, rain showers will become more common. The weather will remain cool, with lower temperatures at night and in the mornings from January 31 to February 3.

In South-Central Vietnam, the Central Highlands, and Southern Vietnam, the upcoming 10-day forecast predicts mainly sunny weather, with localized showers and thunderstorms likely in the late afternoon and evening.
