Hmm? Where do I even begin? Well, earlier this year I met my perfect partner. Everything was going smoothly and I loved that he understood me. In June, he and I started talking about wanting to start a family. Because I was excited about it, I started to imagine and play “make-believe.” I walked around telling everyone that I was pregnant. I announced it to him, to his family, and to my family.
There were moments of stress and doubt about how I was going to answer for myself if everyone found out that I was not pregnant because we had already done our African customs and we were fully ready for the baby.
Fast forward to August. Now people were starting to ask me why they were not seeing my baby bump. That got me feeling even more stressed, and I started regretting that I had told people that I was pregnant.
When I finally let go of my attachment to being pregnant, I discovered in the first week of November that I actually was pregnant and I had felt all the symptoms!
