Politburo assigns Tran Luu Quang & Mai Van Chinh to key central commission roles

During a conference on August 21, General Secretary and President To Lam officially disclosed these recent personnel decisions.

Tran Luu Quang, a member of the 13th Central Party Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, has been designated as the Head of the Party’s Economic Commission.

Born in 1967 in Trang Bang, Tay Ninh Province, Quang carries a Master’s degree in Public Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

His career has been notably linked to Tay Ninh, where he undertook various important roles, including Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee.

Subsequently, he held the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee before being appointed as Deputy Prime Minister in January 2023.

Concurrently, Mai Van Chinh has been assigned as the Head of the Party’s Mass Mobilization Commission.

Born in 1961 in Long An Province, Chinh holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics.

Commencing his career as a specialist at the Office of the Long An Provincial People’s Committee, Chinh has held pivotal roles in Long An, including Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Secretary of the Thu Thua District Party Committee, and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee.

Later, he was elected Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee and in January 2015, he was chosen as Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission.

His new role as Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission follows the reassignment of Bui Thi Minh Hoai, who recently assumed the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

With these appointments, the Central Economic Commission is now under the leadership of Tran Luu Quang, assisted by three Deputy Heads: Nguyen Duy Hung, Nguyen Hong Son, and Nguyen Duc Hien.

Simultaneously, the Central Mass Mobilization Commission is led by Mai Van Chinh, with five Deputy Heads: Pham Tat Thang (Permanent Deputy Head), Do Van Phoi, Nguyen Lam, Bui Tuan Quang, and Trieu Tai Vinh.
