New Associate Professor Candidates Announced
The State Professorship Council has revealed that local councils have recommended awarding professorship titles to 673 individuals, comprising 62 for professor and 611 for associate professor positions.
Youngest Associate Professor Candidate
Loc, born in 1992, is the youngest candidate for the associate professor role. He is affiliated with the Physics Faculty at the Hanoi University of Natural Sciences, part of the Hanoi National University.
Loc earned his bachelor’s degree in Modern Electronic Engineering in 2014 and completed his Ph.D. in Radio Physics and Electronics in 2019, both from the same institution.
Upon graduation, he joined the Physics Faculty and progressed through various roles, ultimately becoming a lecturer. As of March 2023, he serves as the deputy head of the Radio Physics division.
During his career, Loc has led one ministerial scientific research project and one community-based project, contributing to 58 published scientific articles, with 24 in esteemed international journals, including seven as the main author.
His research interests encompass advanced MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) designs and microfluidic systems for biomedical applications, as well as innovations in electronic circuits and signal processing for medical devices.
He holds a patent for a microfluidic device capable of detecting A549 lung cancer cells and is a co-author on a process for the same detection.
Another Notable Associate Professor Candidate
Tran Ngoc Mai, also a young contender for the associate professor title, hails from Ha Nam. She possesses a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a master’s in economics and finance from Queen Mary University of London, UK. She completed her doctorate at the Hanoi University of Foreign Trade in 2021.
Currently, she is the deputy head of the International Investment division at the Hanoi Banking Academy, having authored 31 scientific papers, six of which were published in high-profile journals post-doctorate, all with her as the main author.
Mai has successfully led two fundamental research projects that received commendable evaluations and contributed to two reference books in her field.
Her research predominantly concentrates on international investment, trade, and sustainable economic growth, as well as sustainable business practices and behavioral management. She has published 14 articles related to international investment and 17 articles on sustainable business practices, with her as the primary author for several of them.
