Since its inception, the Party has successfully guided the country to numerous significant victories through appropriate strategies, innovative practices, and the unwavering support of its members and the people.

Within just 15 years of its establishment, the Party directed the fight for national liberation, achieving the August Revolution and establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on 02/09/1945, thereby ending colonial rule. The Vietnamese people transformed from being oppressed to becoming the masters of their own nation.

Following the August Revolution’s success, the country encountered significant obstacles, facing famine, illiteracy, and foreign invasion. Despite these challenges, the Party led the defense of the fledgling government while preparing for resistance against French colonial rule. Guided by the right strategies and national unity, the Party successfully overcame numerous adversities, culminating in the historic Dien Bien Phu victory and the signing of the Geneva Accords in 1954.

After enduring a divided nation for over two decades, the Vietnamese people, under the Party and President Ho Chi Minh’s leadership, faced the trials of American imperialism, leading to the liberation of the South and reunification—a defining moment in our history demonstrating both national significance and a commitment to unity.

By 2024, Vietnam’s economy is projected to exceed 470 billion USD, positioning it 32nd globally and among the top 20 countries attracting trade and foreign investments.

The well-being of the Vietnamese people has significantly improved, with the poverty rate plummeting to just 1.93% from 60% in 1986. The nation has seen growth across all sectors—political, economic, cultural, scientific, technological, along with advancements in national defense and security. Vietnam’s role in international relations is expanding as it contributes to tackling regional and global challenges.

In 1945, leading the populace in the August Revolution, the Party had a mere 5,000 members. However, with the right direction and steadfast commitment to the nation, it guided the people to victory and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. By 1960, amidst the struggle against American imperialism, membership surged to around 500,000, positioning the Party as the central force in the fight for independence and national unity.

Today, with more than 5.4 million members, the Party’s strength continues to expand in both quantity and quality, poised to lead the nation in this new era. Each member embodies the trust, intellect, and unity of our nation.
