Vietnam International Digital Week 2024 Overview
The Vietnam International Digital Week 2024 is set to take place from November 19-22 in Ha Long City. This event is organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in partnership with the Quang Ninh Province People’s Committee. It aims to create a space for businesses and regulatory bodies, both local and international, to discuss advancements in IT, digital transformation, and digital infrastructure.
Throughout the event, participants will share knowledge on policy-making, technology trends, human resource development, and collaborative efforts to tackle contemporary issues.
Key Events and Discussions
Ministerial Roundtable: On November 18, key figures including MIC Minister Nguyen Manh Hung and other governmental and international representatives will discuss future strategies and the significance of virtual assistants in promoting economic progress and sustainable governance.
ASEAN 5G Conference: The fifth conference will delve into subjects like Open RAN deployment, the regulatory landscape for 5G, and updates on the regional advancement of 5G technology.
AI Governance and Applications Forum: This forum will present case studies on the governance and integration of AI across various industries, aiming to enhance AI utilization in ASEAN nations.
ASEAN Information Officers’ Meeting (SOMRI): Scheduled for November 20, this gathering will focus on improving e-government services to facilitate digital transactions.
Unlicensed Technology Workshop: Attendees will explore technologies such as WiFi 6 that are vital for supporting national digital economies.
International Digital Investment Forum: The goal of this forum is to attract foreign investment to Vietnam’s regions and sectors while connecting local enterprises with global partners.
Submarine Cable Connectivity Forum: This discussion on November 20 will review Vietnam’s strategies for submarine cable connectivity, essential for the country’s digital framework through 2030.
Human Resources Development Conference: In collaboration with the OECD, this conference will address the skills needed for a digital workforce to meet economic demands.
Vietnam–Korea Digital Transformation Forum: Taking place on November 21, this forum will discuss enhancing digital workforce training, advancing digital literacy, and establishing digital universities.
Vietnam–ITU AI Governance Conference: In conjunction with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), this conference will tackle AI governance and its application within industrial sectors in Southeast Asia.
Southeast Asia Hackathon: Running from November 19-22, this competition will showcase teams from ASEAN nations, co-hosted by the MIC and South Korea’s KISA.
The first Vietnam International Digital Week in December 2023 focused on narrow AI, paving the way for this year’s expansive initiatives.
