South Korean Couple Explores Vietnam
Simzi and Baek, a South Korean couple, embarked on a journey around the globe several years ago, spending a month in each destination they visit.
Their recent trip took them to Vietnam, where they explored notable places like Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat in Lam Dong, and Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa.
Beyond the stunning landscapes and delicious cuisine, they were surprised to find a significant number of fellow Korean tourists in the coastal city.
During just one day of strolling through local streets and cafes, Simzi encountered around 100 other Koreans.
Throughout their two-year travel experience, the couple has seldom seen so many compatriots abroad, even humorously declaring Nha Trang to be “the spot where you find the most South Koreans worldwide.”
“I can see why this city draws so many South Korean visitors; it truly is a delightful place,” Simzi expressed.
Baek also chimed in, noting that Nha Trang exceeded his expectations, particularly appreciating the clean and safe sidewalks. They found the availability of services quite convenient wherever they went.
“Everywhere you turn, you find restaurants, supermarkets, massage centers, and markets,” he noted, adding that many local signs were in Korean, indicating Nha Trang’s appeal to South Koreans.
The couple dedicated two weeks to exploring Nha Trang’s local delights after a month-long stay in Da Lat.
They found the local cuisine to be both tasty and surprisingly affordable, enjoying dishes like banh my chao (baguette with fillings), banh xeo hai san (seafood pancake), and cha gio (spring rolls), each costing just VND30,000.
Simzi highlighted that travelers in Vietnam shouldn’t miss out on getting a budget-friendly hair wash at the local salons.
They are not alone in their admiration; numerous South Korean celebrities have also praised Nha Trang, including Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim Byung Chul, and the stars from “Doctor Cha” and “Marry My Husband.”
South Korean media and travel agencies frequently endorse Khanh Hoa province and Nha Trang as a travel hotspot.
A South Korean travel magazine, Haps, has identified four key reasons for visiting Nha Trang: delectable food, stunning beaches, unique culture, and exciting water sports.
Attractive Destination for Young Travelers
The Korea Herald has noted that with its captivating scenery and vibrant nightlife, Nha Trang is an ideal vacation spot for younger South Koreans.
There are 22 daily flights connecting South Korea to Cam Ranh in Khanh Hoa, mainly from Incheon, facilitating an average of 25,000 travelers weekly.
Summer peak tourism months, particularly June and July, are bustling in Nha Trang, which is renowned for its island tours, including visits to Hon Tam, Hon Mun, Hoa Lan (Orchid Island), and Khi (Monkey Island).
A series of recent videos showcasing Nha Trang’s stunning beaches have gone viral, with one island featuring emerald waters often compared to a “miniature Hawaii” in Vietnam. Social media is flooded with liked photos from a breathtaking beach on Hon Mieu Island, located just a short boat ride from Nha Trang.
This beach spans only 300 meters, yet offers crystal-clear waters, exquisite emerald hues, and fine white sand. The area is dotted with thatched-roof huts, white umbrellas, and wooden chairs along the shoreline, all surrounded by lush greenery and tall coconut palms.
