Abure Faction Moves to Expel Rep Ogene and Recall Him

Abure Faction Threatens to Expel Rep Ogene Initiate His Recall (via Primetweets)

The Julius Abure faction of the Labour Party has issued a warning to House of Representatives member, Afam Ogene.

This group is threatening to remove him and start a recall process.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, criticized Ogene for his inadequate performance as a lawmaker representing the Labour Party.

Ifoh urged the police to investigate Ogene to clarify the origins of a document he allegedly received from the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.

He accused Ogene of attempting to intimidate the attorney-general, the police, and party leadership, labeling it a political issue.

Ifoh asserted that the document Ogene supposedly possesses is classified and should not be accessible to him or the public.

“A classified document should be held by the IGP or the minister of justice, not within Ogene’s access.

“As a lawmaker in the National Assembly, he should not have access to classified information from the IGP and AGF’s offices. If such documents do exist, the IGP should question him,” Ifoh added.

“He has faced suspension from the party due to his inability to effectively lead the party’s caucus in NASS (National Assembly),” Ifoh stated.

According to Ifoh, this suspension is what has driven Ogene to engage in unethical tactics.

“He and his backers anticipated that Abure’s leadership would soon end, but they were caught off guard by the Supreme Court decision that thwarted their plans,” he remarked.

The publicity secretary indicated that if Ogene continues on this path, the party may be forced to expel him.

“We will also proceed with his recall from his constituents because he is failing to serve them effectively,” he concluded.
