Against All Odds: Woman Earns Master’s in Computational Neuroscience and Cognitive Robotics Nine Years After Declaring AI Was Out of Reach

On December 10, 2024, she proudly showcased her certificate along with a photo.

Ruvimbo Mangandaire, an African woman, has achieved her Master’s degree in Computational Neuroscience and Cognitive Robotics from the University of Birmingham in the UK.

This accomplishment comes nearly a decade after she doubted her ability to learn about Artificial Intelligence.

“Neurorobotics looks fascinating, but it seems too late for me to delve into artificial intelligence,” she posted on X back on March 7, 2015.

On December 10, 2024, she shared her excitement by posting a picture of her certificate.

“Omg, who’s gonna tell her?” she humorously captioned the post.
