An all-star concert celebrating the life and music of legendary artist Prince will be held Jan. 28th, two days after the Grammy awards ceremony, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The concert will be broadcast in April, presumably timed to coincide with the anniversary of the musician’s death on April 21, 2016.
Billed as “Let’s Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince,” the concert will feature numerous artists and electrifying performances.

Who will be performing at Prince’s Grammy tribute concert?
Among the artists expected to perform the songs of Prince are Alicia Keys, John Legend, Beck, Usher, Juanes, Chris Martin, H.E.R., St. Vincent, and others, according to Rolling Stone.
The Prince tribute will most probably adhere to “Grammy Salute” concerts from the past, such as those for The Beatles, the Bee Gees, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Motown and Aretha Franklin.
Mirroring those tributes, according to the announcement, the concert for Prince will cover the different phases of the Kiss artist’s career.
Prince’s friend is coordinating the concert
The late artist’s dear friend Sheila E., as well as Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis of The Time will be co-musical directors. Performers include his former band The Revolution, Mavis Staples, and Susannah Hoffs of The Bangles, for whom Prince wrote Manic Monday. Rounding out those coming in tribute to Prince are Common, Gary Clark, Jr., and Earth, Wind & Fire.
Sheila E. announced that her band will be performing its own round of Prince favorites, including her big hit, The Glamourous Life, written, of course, by Prince.
“I was very honored to be able to do this for so many reasons, but to be able to help celebrate the life of a dear friend and be a part of this and be musical director is awesome,” she said.
In a statement, Recording Academy President/CEO Deborah Dugan said, “Prince. The Purple One. His Royal Badness — regardless of how you identify him, he is indisputably one of the greatest musical virtuosos of all time. With his subversive attitude and commanding nature, he straddled musical genres and created electrifying music that was bursting with character. He continues to serve as an inspirational icon for artists and fans worldwide, and we are so honored to pay tribute to his legacy.”
When is the concert and how can you get tickets?
The Grammy Salute to seven-Grammy-award-winning Prince will be held on Jan. 28 at the Los Angeles Convention Center at 7:30PM PT. You can purchase tickets through AXS. Tickets are available to the general public and they’re not cheap, going from $350-$2,500 per ticket according to AXS.
If you can’t make it to the concert, CBS will be airing it in April, but an exact date hasn’t yet been announced.
At Prince’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Alicia Keys said, “There are many kings. King Henry VIII, King Solomon, King Tut, King James, King Kong, the three kings, but there is only one Prince. . . They have born sons, but none of them can touch the rays from this man who stands alone.”
