Assassination Attempt on Kaduna Governor’s Aide
Rachael Averik, the Special Assistant for Political Affairs to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, has reported that she survived an assassination attempt in Southern Kaduna.
She shared her experience through a statement on her verified Facebook account and on the ‘Kaduna Political Affairs’ forum, where political discussions are common.
According to her account, the incident took place between the Tsauni Majidadi and Gani villages in the Sanga Local Government Area. At the time, she was traveling to Gwantu after attending a condolence visit and inaugurating a hospital established by Alh. Muhammad Umar Numbu.
During the attack, Rachael reported that a police officer who was with her and the driver sustained injuries in a shootout with the attackers who targeted their vehicle.
Attempts to reach the Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer for confirmation were unsuccessful, as he did not answer phone calls or respond to text messages.
