The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the results of the Lagos state gubernatorial election that took place on Saturday, March 18. Incumbent governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has won 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) while his main rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour party has won one. Sanwo-Olu’s LGAs include Lagos-Island, Apapa, Kosofe, Ojo, Alimisho, Ikeja, Surulere, Ajeronmi-Ifelodun, Epe, Agege, Mushin, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Badagry, Lagos-Mainland, Ikorodu, Oshodi-Isolo and Shomolu. Gbadebo’s only LGA is Amuwo-Odofin. The results of the remaining LGA, Eti-Osa, are expected to be announced soon after they have been collated. The collation center will resume the announcement of results at 5pm.
