Antebellum trailer: Janelle Monáe stars in Lionsgate’s new horror thriller
Lionsgate has released the trailer for Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz’s forthcoming feature directorial debut horror film Antebellum, offering us a better idea on what will Janelle Monáe’s character be as fate chooses her to save our past. Produced by Get Out and Us producer QC Entertainment, the film is slated to hit the theaters on April 24, 2020. Check out the video below!

Antebellum will follow the story of successful author Veronica Henley (Janelle Monáe), who finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late.
The film will star Janelle Monáe (Hidden Figures), Kiersey Clemons (Sweetheart), Gabourey Sidibe (Precious, American Horror Story), Jena Malone (The Hunger Games trilogy, The Neon Demon), Eric Lange (Narcos), Jack Huston (Ben-Hur), Tongayi Chirisa (Crusoe), Marque Richardson II, Rob Aramayo, and Lily Cowles.

Antebellum will be the feature writing and directorial debut of Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz or Bush+Renz, who are known for directing the viral police brutality PSA titled Against the Wall which starred Michael B. Jordan, Danny Glover and Michael K. Williams. QC Entertainment’s Ray Mansfield and Sean McKittrick are serving as producers along with Zev Foreman (Dallas Buyers Club) and Lezlie Wills.
