The All Progressives Congress (APC), currently in power, has declared that they are not responsible for the advertising billboard in Abuja advocating for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 candidacy.
This prominent billboard was seen on Monday along a busy route in the Federal Capital Territory’s Area One.
Featuring a picture of the President alongside his wife, Oluremi, the sign reads, “Grassroots support for Tinubu 2027, the 1019 initiative.”
The advertisement alludes to Tinubu’s possible re-election, generating conversations among travelers and bystanders.
Despite this, Bala Ibrahim from the APC claimed the party had no prior knowledge of the billboard.
In an interview with Punch, he stated that the party had not authorized the campaign display.
However, he acknowledged the likelihood that it could be a project funded by individuals or supportive groups linked to the President.
He mentioned, “I’m not personally aware of this at the party level. If you’ve seen it, please investigate further. It might have been organized by a group or certain individuals.
“Typically, such signage will include details about the sponsors at the bottom. Check if it has any party markings. If not, it’s not from us.”
