Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, announced on Saturday that a patrol team from the ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters arrested Suleiman Adamu, aged 40, during a recent operation.

The Bauchi State Police Command has successfully captured three members of an armed robbery gang.

During a raid conducted in the Sabon Layi area, law enforcement seized a homemade firearm, ammunition, and various other items.

Wakil revealed that as part of the operation, patrol officers held Suleiman Adamu, 40, who was found in possession of the aforementioned items.

Among the confiscated goods were a homemade revolver, eight live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, three spent shells, and two motorcycle plates.

As investigations progressed, Adamu Sale, also known as Dogo, 30, from the Rafin Makaranta area, was apprehended as well. He is believed to be involved in various armed robbery incidents in Zaranda village.

Wakil stated, “Upon questioning, the suspects confessed to using the homemade firearm to steal three motorcycles, which they sold to Jibrin Mohammed, 30, in the Railway Area, Bauchi.”

Jibrin himself admitted to buying stolen motorcycles, indicating he purchased one for N70,000 and later sold it for N80,000 to scrap metal dealers.

He further confessed to resolving a conflict privately after the owner of a stolen bike confronted him.

The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed, has initiated a comprehensive investigation to identify more suspects and retrieve additional stolen motorcycles.
