Addressing Men’s Mental Health
Former BBNaija contestant Leo DaSilva recently discussed the phrase “Be a man”, arguing that it often serves to suppress men’s voices, undermine their happiness, and can lead to toxic behavior.
He emphasized the importance of men valuing their mental health and overall wellness.
DaSilva stated:
“‘Be a man’ is a phrase used to silence men and neglect their feelings, which can foster toxicity.”
He added that it’s perfectly acceptable for men to focus on their mental health and well-being.
“If you’re not okay, you won’t be able to support anyone else effectively,” he advised.
