Ike Ude, the artist whose photos/paintings of Nollywood stars is making waves
More and more people are beginning to see Nollywood in a new light. And they are absolutely right to do so. Our films are better, with more attention paid to the technical aspects, actors and other film practitioners also now pay better attention to their craft.
The international media is also giving us props. Celebrating Nollywood films that deserve praise. Ike Ude is a Nigerian born, New York based artist has put Nollywood in the spotlight via his artworks.
He captured 64 stunning images of the most popular faces in Nollywood including directors and producers in a piece titled The School of Nollywood. This work was inspired by renowned artist Raphael’s The School of Athens, painted in 1509.
