Binani Reaffirms Loyalty to APC Amidst Speculations
Aishatu Ahmed, known as Binani, who was the APC’s candidate for governor in Adamawa State during the 2023 elections, has firmly rejected claims that she has left the party.
Previously, Binani ran for governor while serving as a senator for the Adamawa Central Zone. She restated her unwavering dedication to the APC, asserting that no external influence could drive her away.
At a gathering in Yola orchestrated by her support group, Binani addressed the rumors suggesting that she and her supporters had exited the party.
In a message delivered by her representative, Mijinyawa Kugama, during the launch of a support group named Gladiators for Binani Only, she declared: “We have not left the party. We are founding members of the APC, and no force, not even Jupiter, can compel us to abandon it.”
Binani expressed gratitude to her supporters for their steadfast loyalty throughout the 2023 elections, which allowed her to nearly defeat incumbent Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
Umar Mustapha, a prominent politician and Binani’s supporter, highlighted the importance of the Gladiators group in promoting unity across Adamawa’s various ethnic groups.
He noted that the group is crucial in building a robust coalition aimed at winning back Adamawa State from the current ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the upcoming 2027 elections.
Himaga Yayirus, the creator and state Coordinator of the Gladiators group, reaffirmed their goal of ensuring the APC’s triumph in 2027, commending Binani’s political agenda focused on reducing poverty and uplifting marginalized communities.
During the event, new officials for the Gladiators for Binani Only organization were installed, including Maryam Waziri as Secretary and Rhoda Nuhu as Women Leader, among others.
