Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are cozying up during the coronavirus pandemic. Taking to social media, the couple shared photos of a recent quarantine shoot they created, which drew hilarious comparisons between Shelton and Tiger King’s Joe Exotic. They also gifted fans with an amazing acoustic performance of their song, “Nobody But You,” encouraging everyone to stay safe amid the pandemic.
Blake Shelton jokes about his quarantine mullet
At the end of March, Shelton joked with his followers about how he is bringing the mullet back during the quarantine. He then took things a step further and revealed that Stefani had decided to add some stripes to his look.
“Quarantine mullet update 3/26/2020,” he wrote alongside the pic. “@gwenstefani has decided to take it to the next level.. Stripes.”
Fans were quick to poke fun at Shelton’s haircut and compared him to Joe Exotic, the main character in Netflix’s hit documentary series, Tiger King. After one fan dubbed Shelton, “Blake Exotic,” another assured the country crooner that he looks “exactly like the Tiger King.”
Shelton and Stefani later uploaded a slew of photos that were taken as part of their “quarantine photo shoot.” The images drew more comparisons to Exotic, and Shelton seemed to take the comments in stride.
The two, who have been dating since 2015, are currently staying in Shelton’s home state of Oklahoma. They will likely remain in Oklahoma until the coronavirus pandemic slows down and things return to normal.
While Shelton and Stefani are clearly making the best of the situation, they also treated fans with a sweet rendition of their popular track, “Nobody But You.”
Blake and Gwen cozy up for a new performance of ‘Nobody But You’
Shelton and Stefani recently took part in ACM Presents: Our Country on Sunday Night, where they performed a low-key version of their duet, “Nobody But You.” According to Billboard, the pair recorded the song at Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma and were not afraid to throw a little fun in the mix.
“We’re happy to be [here], hiding away from everybody doing what we’re supposed to do: drinking all day,” Shelton joked.
Stefani’s brother, Todd Stefani, recorded the couple’s duet. The two sang in front of a fire pit with a gorgeous sunset at their back. Before the recording ended, Blake Shelton told fans to “say safe,” and Stefani immediately cracked up over his goof.
Shelton and Stefani were originally set to sing the song during the ACM Awards, which was scheduled to air over the weekend. Like other projects in Hollywood, the ceremony has been pushed back to September because of the pandemic.
The couple also performed the track during the 2020 Grammys. The song is a part of Shelton’s hit album, Fully Loaded: God’s Country.
Stefani’s three boys were not featured in the performance, which they both shared on Instagram. But the No Doubt frontwoman did share some photos of Shelton and her sons as recently as last month.
Gwen Stefani shares pics of Blake Shelton and her sons
Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Stefani snapped some adorable images of Shelton and her two oldest boys backstage at the final stop of his Friends and Heroes tour. The photos featured Shelton hanging out with Kingston and Zuma, proving yet again how close they have become.
One of the photos shows Kingston putting his head on Shelton’s shoulder while the singer rests his arm around Zuma. During the concert, Shelton called Stefani to the stage to perform a duet with her, which was a huge surprise to fans.
Apollo was not present for the performance. In February, Stefani posted a photo of Shelton and Apollo celebrating his birthday. The pic featured the trio holding up Apollo’s cake and wishing the young boy a happy birthday.
Stefani shares her children with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. The pair called it quits in the summer of 2015 after well over a decade of marriage. Although Shelton has been married several times, he does not currently share any children with his exes.
There is no telling when the coronavirus pandemic will end, but hopefully, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani will continue to share photos of their time under quarantine.
