On Friday, the Federal High Court in Lagos remanded relationship blogger Blessing Okoro in prison custody until May 30th. Justice Yelim Bogoro made the order after Okoro was arraigned on a six-count charge of cyber-bullying, libel, and exhibiting uncensored movies. The prosecution counsel Rotshang Faith Dimka of the Force Headquarters, Abuja, said Okoro had allegedly sent messages using her Instagram handle @officialblessingceo to bully, threaten, and harass Folashade Samuels, a.k.a Mamajazz, the younger sister of the late Bimbo Ogbonna. The defendant was also accused of using her Instagram handle to injure the reputation of Folashade Samuels and the late Bimbo Ogbonna by exposing them to hatred, contempt, and ridicule. Additionally, she was charged with exhibiting a film and video work titled “Sweet Sour” without a censorship certificate and without holding a licence as issued by the National Film & Video Censors Board (NFVCB). Okoro pleaded not guilty to the charges. The late Bimbo, the wife of a Lagos celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna (IVD), died last year in a fire incident at their residence in Lekki. Ogbonna is currently on trial at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja in connection with her death. He has been charged with one-count of involuntary manslaughter in suit No LD/21055C/23 preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.
