BritBox Celebrates National Nurses Day With Slate of Programs Showcasing Healthcare
On May 6, National Nurses Day, BritBox will pay tribute to frontline healthcare workers through a selection of medical-themed programming that celebrates healthcare heroes.
At the center of this celebratory collection will be the BritBox debut of Florence Nightingale, a captivating biopic drama (never-before-streamed in the United States) that is directed by Emmy Award winner Norman Stone (Shadowland) and starring Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) as the mother of modern nursing in honor of what would have been her bicentenary. Based largely on her own words that sparked global health care reform, the film follows this British medical icon’s journey as she paves the way for this noble profession during a time of crisis and ultimately becomes an international hero.
