BTS: Jimin Says the Next Comeback Album Will Exceed Expectations and ARMY Isn’t Ready

Can you hear it? The sound of a million ARMY heartbeats as BTS gears up for their forthcoming comeback. For months, fans have been speculating when the South Korean septet — including members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — will return with new music. And now, it seems we’re closer than ever. At the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards, Jimin mercilessly charmed ARMY with teasers about the next BTS comeback album. And according to the “Serendipity” singer, fans can expect the extraordinary.

When BTS’s “Make It Right” remix with Lauv dropped in October, RM revealed the group was in the studio working on their upcoming album.

“We’re actually now in our studio,” RM told iHeartRadio. “So we’re working on our next album.”

Since then, BTS has remained mum in regards to new music — much less the comeback release date. However, many members of ARMY have already begun speculation, including the album’s title, which is rumored to be called Map of the Soul: Shadow.

It’s also possible BTS already gave fans hints about what’s on the horizon at the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself [The Final] concert, the 2019 Melon Music Awards performance, and the MAMA 2019 stage. But, of course, nothing has been confirmed. So naturally, ARMY has been running wild with their theories.

Regardless, at MAMA 2019 on Dec. 4, ARMY was given the green light to get hyped about what’s to come in the future. At the ceremony, Jimmy Fallon announced the Album of the Year award. Then when Fallon revealed BTS won the daesang, the seven members went on stage to express their humble thank yous.

Following J-Hope’s heartfelt speech, Jimin confirmed that the progress on BTS’s next album is coming together. And quite frankly, the “Lie” crooner’s pride in BTS’s new music is enough to get anyone excited.

“First, thank you so much to Jimmy Fallon who made a special appearance,” Jimin said, per Soompi. “We’re working on our next album now, and I think we’ll be able to put out an even better album than you’re expecting. Please look forward to it a lot. Thank you.”

Then in a slightly chaotic video of BTS’s “Thank You Stage” at MAMA 2019, Jimin — once again — gushed over the new album. So basically, everyone can look forward to its release — whenever that may be.

“[The] next album is really good, really good please look forward to it a lot,” a fan translated on Twitter.

After Jimin’s remarks about BTS’s next album, ARMY rushed to social media to share their thoughts. But despite all the fan theories within the past few months, it appears no one is ready for the wild ride we’re all bound to take. One fan on Twitter wrote:

armys: i can’t wait for bts’ comeback

“jimin: we are preparing the next album and i think we’ll able to present you an album that exceeds your expectation”

armys: wait i’m not yet ready !!!

Nevertheless, most fans are still buzzing with excitement.

“Jimin seems to like the new album a lot. He can’t stop saying that. I can’t wait,” a fan tweeted.

“Jimin keeps emphasizing how good their next album; the anticipation is killing me,” a fan on Reddit wrote. “My wallet is ready, boys.”

And to add to all the buzz, ARMY noticed Jimin’s confidence in BTS’s comeback album.

Shadow is coming, yet no one is ready,” a fan on Twitter wrote. “When the tannies are confident in their albums they make HIT records.”

That said, Jimin isn’t the only one who has faith in BTS’s comeback. When speaking with Time Magazine in October, Big Hit Entertainment co-CEO, Bang Si-hyuk, showed his support for the group’s new music.

When asked what BTS fans should be looking out for, Bang said, “First, the next album. It’s going great.”

Now, one thing is clear. As 2019 comes to a close and 2020 approaches, it seems the next BTS comeback album is on its way. And based on what Jimin and Bang have said, it’s time to brace yourselves, ARMY. So get ready.
