Burna Boy Clarifies Incident at Lagos Concert
Nigerian music icon, Burna Boy, has opened up about the incident that occurred during the 2025 Greater Lagos Countdown concert, where he abruptly left the performance stage.
In an Instagram story, he revealed that he suffers from PTSD, which was triggered when a fan attempted to reach for him on stage. This reaction led to his sudden departure from the event.
PTSD, or post-traumatic stress disorder, is a condition that can affect individuals who have experienced extremely distressing events.
Burna asked fans to be mindful of his personal space and expressed his appreciation for their continued support. He mentioned,
“It was a free show. I was supposed to do 10mins and did almost an hour. Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when I’m performing,” he stated.
“I had an amazing time with Lagos State last night. Don’t jump on my stage like that! I got PTSD. I love you all. Happy new year.”
The concert took place at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), forming part of a broader annual celebration across the various IBILE divisions of Lagos, including Ikorodu, Badagry, Agege, and Epe.
Performers at the event included notable artists like Olamide, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Seyi Vibez, 9ice, BNXN, and fuji legend Adewale Ayuba.
