Reno Omokri
Reno Omokri, a former Presidential aide, points out the irony in a woman from a poor background refusing to marry a poor man.
He argues that since she has endured poverty growing up, she shouldn’t dismiss the idea of marrying someone from a similar background.
Omokri emphasizes that a woman accustomed to her father’s poverty should be able to accept the same in her husband.
He challenges the notion that a poor woman is a rare find.

Responding to Omokri, Omera Ugbede Opaluwa expresses a differing opinion by stating that his daughters will not marry men of poor financial standing.
Opaluwa firmly believes that no woman should settle for a poor man.
His perspective highlighted below:
“Respectfully, I disagree with Sir Reno Omokri. I once shared that my daughters would not marry poor men, and faced criticism for my stance. As parents, we aspire for our children to surpass us. Why should my daughter settle for a man like her father? In the same vein, just as the sins of parents don’t burden the offspring post-Jesus, my daughter deserves a wealthier partner than me. She should learn from my marriage mistakes and aim for better. No woman should have to settle for poverty just as no man should endure it.”
