Recently, part of a temporary market in Yola was consumed by fire, intended for traders who lost their stalls when the previous market was destroyed.
The original market was demolished following a fire last year, and reconstruction is currently underway.
As reported by Daily Post, on the afternoon of January 9, it was revealed that the fire occurred late Wednesday night, impacting a portion of the temporary market and leaving traders in grief over their losses.
The fire ignited around 11:30 pm Wednesday, rapidly spreading and devastating many shops and their merchandise due to the presence of combustible materials.
Efforts from firefighters and community volunteers helped control the fire, ensuring it didn’t completely destroy the market.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, but numerous traders suffered significant losses, leaving them heartbroken.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri extended his condolences to the affected sellers and committed to providing assistance to help them recover.
