Ikenga Ugochinyere, who represents the Ideato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has accused Umar Iliya Damagum and Samuel Anyanwu, the chairman and secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), of betraying the party.
He labeled them as traitors, warning that the party faces dire consequences if their actions continue unchallenged.
According to Ugochinyere, both Damagum and Anyanwu have been secretly meeting with officials from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He expressed that if their leadership persists, the PDP is on a path to disgrace. Ugochinyere urged party members to unite to protect the PDP.
In a statement on his X account, he demanded the immediate resignation of the Damagum-led administration.
“When the leaders of a political party engage in secret meetings with the ruling government, it signals inevitable trouble for that party unless action is taken to remove these political villains,” he stated.
“It seems they plan to hand over the PDP to the APC without a hint of remorse, all for personal gain. If we don’t intervene, the downfall of PDP will be even worse than that of ANPP and AD,” he added.
