Demi Lovato Teases New Self-Positive Anthem ‘I Love Me’

Singer-songwriter Demi Lovato has been having a pretty incredible year so far. First, she returned to the stage with her Grammys performance, which was one of the best of the night. Then, she sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl, which has been a dream of hers for a long time.

Now, Lovato is teasing her second single of the year, titled “I Love Me.” Here’s what we know about it so far, as well as her plans for its upcoming debut.

Demi Lovato released her first song in over a year ‘Anyone’

Lovato took some time out of the public eye. After six years sober, she relapsed in 2018. On July 24, 2018, she suffered an overdose. Lovato got back into acting in 2019, filming for the sitcom Will & Grace and the Netflix film Eurovision. But it wasn’t until 2020 that she came back to music.

The artist performed “Anyone,” a song that she wrote just days before her overdose, at the 2020 Grammy Awards. The single was released immediately after. Lovato then released a live recording from her Grammys performance.

She’s teasing a new single ‘I Love Me’

Since the positive reception to her 2020 performances, Lovato has been active on social media. However, some eager Lovatics may think she’s been a bit slow in releasing information. Fortunately, that’s all changed now.

On March 2, 2020, she revealed that a new single, titled “I Love Me,” is on the horizon. It’s set to debut on Friday, March 6, 2020. Lovato also shared a music video for the song is on its way. Given the title, we wonder if it will feature a battle between Lovato and “herself.”

Lovato is managed by Scooter Braun

In May 2019, Lovato signed with a new manager: Scooter Braun. You may recognize his name from his feud with Taylor Swift, as well as his many other famous celebrity clients, including Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber.

Braun is known for having his artists promote one another. When Bieber released his single, “Yummy,” Lovato was among the first to post an Instagram Story of herself listening to it. To some, this felt like she was aligning herself with Bieber in the ongoing disputes between he and his ex-girlfriend, Lovato’s former BFF, Selena Gomez.

It looks like she’ll be debuting her new single on ‘The Ellen Show’

On Wednesday, March 4, 2020, Lovato gave fans some more news: She will be appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on March 5 and 6. The photo and hashtag chosen indicate that she’ll be debuting “I Love Me” on the program.

This timing is far from coincidental. It’s currently “Justin Bieber week” on the show, and Bieber will be there for Lovato’s interview on Thursday’s episode. On Friday, Lovato herself is set to be the guest host. It looks like Braun has been working hard to promote his clients (and have them support one another). We can’t wait to hear Lovato’s new single.
