Big up to Brooklyn.
Earlier today, it was announced that The Notorious B.I.G. would be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and no could be could more thrilled than Sean “Diddy” Combs. Hours after the announcement, the Bad Boy mogul took to Instagram to celebrate the big news.
“I want to share this special moment, special announcement with y’all,” said an excited Diddy while Biggie’s “Juicy” played in the background. “Biggie, you did it! You did it, motherfucker! The Notorious B.I.G. is gonna be inducted into the Rock & Roll motherfuckin’ Hall of Fame.”
Added Puff, “We miss you, King. New York stand up, Brooklyn!”
Lil’ Kim, Slim of 112, A$AP Rocky, YBN Cordae, and Biggie’s widow Faith Evans also celebrated the news. “Thank you to all who voted and supported BIG! He has been inducted into the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!!!” tweeted Evans.
Biggie, along with Whitney Houston, Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, and T.Rex, will be inducted during the 35th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction on May 2. The ceremony will be held at Cleveland’s Public Auditorium and air live on HBO. It’s unclear who will pay tribute to Biggie during the ceremony, but Diddy is a good bet.
The Notorious B.I.G., who received a nomination in his first year of eligibility, becomes the second solo rapper to join the Rock Hall after Tupac Shakur, who was posthumously inducted in 2017.
