Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the prominent American hip-hop figure currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn due to serious allegations, has been taken off suicide watch.

A representative from his legal team shared with People Magazine that the Grammy-winning rapper is in a good mental state, showing strength while he prepares for his trial.

During his nearly two weeks in detention, the 54-year-old has had visits from family members, according to law enforcement sources.

Combs was arrested on September 16 over charges relating to sex trafficking and racketeering and is expected to appear in court early next month.

Authorities initially placed him on suicide watch as concerns about his mental health arose following his unexpected arrest.

On the previous Friday, new sexual assault allegations emerged when a woman filed a lawsuit in New York claiming she was repeatedly assaulted and drugged at Diddy’s residences, resulting in her becoming pregnant.

This lawsuit names Combs, his businesses, and several associates, seeking unspecified damages for physical and emotional harm. On Friday, attempts to reach comments from Combs’ legal representatives went unanswered.

The woman, referred to as Jane Doe in the lawsuit, contends that Diddy assaulted her while she was under the influence of drugs and that he and his associates recorded sexual activities without her knowledge. The alleged incidents began after she met Combs abroad in Fall 2020 and lasted until July of this year.

According to Doe, she felt pressured into visiting Diddy’s residences in various cities multiple times between 2021 and 2022. “During these visits, he would make her perform and intoxicate her until she lost consciousness, resulting in injuries she couldn’t recall,” the lawsuit claims.

In a specific incident in July 2022, she alleges that Combs forced her to take drugs believed to be ketamine, causing her to black out. When she later discovered her pregnancy, she alleges that a Combs associate insisted on an abortion, and she ultimately miscarried.

In July, she asserts that Diddy pushed pills into her mouth during a visit to his Miami home. The following morning, she woke up feeling unwell and unable to recall the previous night’s events, finding the bedroom in a state of chaos.

Attorneys Marie Napoli and Joseph Ciaccio are representing Doe. They have also claimed that Combs monitored her activities and conversations and controlled her financial situation with an ‘allowance.’

“Prominent individuals in the entertainment sector have historically taken advantage of up-and-coming artists and fans,” Napoli stated. “Recent significant lawsuits are intended to hold these celebrities accountable, potentially changing industry norms and bringing justice to victims. No one is above the law, and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is not exempt from serious accusations of sexual trafficking and misconduct.”

Another woman has also accused Combs of rape, stating that he and his security chief filmed the assault at his recording studio in New York in 2001.

Combs remains incarcerated in New York without bail, facing federal charges that allege he managed an extensive network supporting sexual offenses and committing disturbing acts of violence while using intimidation and influence to shield himself and his associates.

He has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. His attorney maintains that Diddy is innocent and is determined to prove it.
