Elderly Man Files for Divorce, Alleges Wife’s Poisoning Plot from Years Past in Abia

Human rights advocate, Ochiegbu Marvelous, who became involved in the situation, mentioned that the elderly man had previously accused his wife of trying to poison him, leading to her arrest five years back.

An astonishing incident has emerged from Abia State, where an 80-year-old man has issued divorce papers to his 70-year-old wife.

According to Ochiegbu Marvelous, the man not only initiated divorce proceedings but also had his wife detained under accusations of poisoning him from five years ago.

This activist revealed that the man reportedly sold 20 plots of land to take revenge on his wife, and when his son challenged his actions, he added his son’s name to the legal documents, labeling him as a “kidnapper.”

“An 80-year-old man from my village served divorce papers to his 70-year-old wife last week from a high court in Abia. Their eldest son is in his 40s,” he stated.

“Yesterday, my team and I facilitated the release of the woman, affectionately known as Mama, from the state SCIID, who had been arrested following allegations of poisoning made five years ago! Quite the character!

I’m not sure who’s behind this but it’s disheartening. It’s troubling that some people from my village are involved in this case.

I’ve heard he sold his land to teach her a lesson, and when his son confronted him, he quickly implicated him as well. Unbelievable!

How can someone accuse another of such serious crimes without a shred of evidence?

I’m grateful for the dedicated and professional officers from the Abia State Police Command who are committed to uncovering the truth.

It’s quite amusing, this elderly man pursuing a divorce from his wife. The most absurd part is that someone actually prepared those documents.
