Four Arrested in Ogun for Cult Activities
The Ogun State Police have detained four individuals believed to be part of the Aye Confraternity, who have been causing panic among residents in the Ijoko region of Sango-Ota.
The suspects—Olanide Balogun, Olamilekan Oyedele, Adeolu Olayinka, and Abdulganiyu Azeez—were taken into custody at approximately 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
SP Omolola Odutola, the police spokesperson, confirmed the arrests in a statement released on Thursday.
“After receiving information about the suspects’ presence in certain parts of Ijoko, the Divisional Police Officer from Sango-Ota organized a raid. When the police arrived, the suspects attempted to flee,” she explained.
“The DPO chased after them and managed to catch one, which eventually led to the capture of the others with his assistance.”
“They commonly engage in breaking windows of parked cars and attacking unsuspecting victims in traffic.”
She also mentioned that the suspects will be moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
