The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has spoken out following a discussion he had with President Bola Tinubu and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
He stated that this meeting has brought about peace in the state.
As a reminder, President Tinubu had a meeting on Thursday night with these two politicians amid the ongoing crisis in the state.
Reports indicate that the President successfully resolved the conflict between Fubara and Wike.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Fubara highlighted that peace is crucial for the state’s advancement, asserting that the agreement formed during their discussions has paved the way for restoration of peace.
He expressed, “This day is significant for me.”
“Peace is what Rivers State requires for progress, and thanks to God and the efforts of Mr. President along with the consensus among the state’s leaders, tranquility has been restored to Rivers State tonight.”
“We will do our utmost to maintain it moving forward.”
