Ned Nwoko Rejects Governor Oborevwori’s Potential Move to APC
Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in the Senate, has stated that he does not support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s potential switch from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This remark came during Nwoko’s visit to the APC national headquarters in Abuja, where he was officially welcomed into the party by National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje and members of the National Working Committee.
After his induction, Nwoko addressed the media and made it clear that Governor Oborevwori would not be accepted into the APC due to his underperformance regarding key projects in Delta State.
He expressed, “My primary reason for leaving PDP is to ensure I have adequate opportunity to address important issues through the Federal Government.”
“I feel as though I’m somewhat in opposition here in Delta. I consistently provide guidance, but none of it is executed.”
When questioned about supporting Oborevwori if he joins APC, Nwoko firmly stated, “No, I will not accept him. How so? Why should I?”
“He hasn’t met my expectations. There are vital projects I urged him to undertake for our community, but he has not acted.”
In welcoming Nwoko, Ganduje voiced optimism regarding the senator’s capacity to rally popular support for APC in Delta State, encouraging him to collaborate with other party members to enhance the party’s presence in the upcoming elections.
“We are pleased to have you in APC and eager to collaborate to advance Delta State,” Ganduje remarked.
