In a disturbing incident, five residents were abducted on Monday morning by suspected kidnappers in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. The abduction took a violent turn when Alhaji Musa Majaga, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was shot during the operation.
According to a local resident named Abdullahi, the kidnappers forcefully entered Majaga’s house at 12:23 am by breaking through the burglary-proof windows. They shot Majaga and took two of his children with them. Subsequently, they proceeded to another residence and abducted three more neighbors.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a member of the local vigilante group revealed that the kidnappers capitalized on the vigilantes’ low supply of cartridges. The vigilante member stated, “The kidnappers took advantage of our low cartridge supply. This incident marks the first kidnapping in Yangoji in five months,” highlighting the community’s relative safety until this recent event.
Alhaji Majaga, suffering from a gunshot wound in the leg, has been transferred to a private hospital in Gwagwalada for medical treatment. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident and are actively working towards securing the safe release of the kidnapped individuals.
