Home Is Just the Beginning: The Lessons Learned Beyond Your Front Door

Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw has come forward in support of her fellow actress, Ngozi Ezeonu, who recently confronted two young women for auditioning without undergarments in a video that went viral.

This situation has ignited a passionate discussion online, with varying opinions about Ezeonu’s remarks.

In her social media statement, Henshaw underscored the need for professionalism at auditions, likening them to job interviews that necessitate appropriate attire and respect.

She pointed out that attendees should take auditions seriously and dress accordingly rather than casually.

Henshaw also responded to critics, affirming that Ezeonu was well within her rights to enforce standards at her auditions, highlighting the significance of professionalism and self-respect in the industry.

She stated:

“I don’t know what bra did to you; you just want to jangle everywhere, that’s your choice. However, if you are attending an audition, it is akin to a job interview, so don’t dress as if you’re just popping out to buy some snacks. I don’t entirely blame the participants; I blame the system for making it too easy for anyone to enter. This profession has had legends like Aunty Joke, RMD, Ego Boyo, and others.”

“If they don’t teach you at home, you will learn elsewhere. One person on X app commented that ‘she’s not their mother or family member to tell them how to dress.’ If you’re not prepared to dress appropriately, perhaps stay home. Ezeonu has every right to expect proper attire at her audition, and we should show dignity in what we do.”
