On Tuesday, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, announced his withdrawal from the Imo State Peoples Democratic Party Gubernatorial race. In a letter addressed to the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Iyiorchia Ayu, Ihedioha stated that he made this decision for the sake of the party’s harmony and unity. He expressed his appreciation for those who had already started mobilizing for him in Imo State, and asked for their understanding. Ihedioha also reflected on his 58th birthday and his commitment to serving the people, as well as the positive impact he made during his seven months as Governor of Imo State.
