One person was killed and four others were kidnapped by bandits in Kasuwar Magani, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A family member stated that the victims, residents of Tudun Wada, Zaria, were ambushed by the bandits upon returning from their farms on July 16, 2024.
The abducted individuals are a public commentator, community leader, and a lecturer at the Federal College of Education, Zaria – Malam Sama’ila Sahabi (pictured), his younger brother, Sidi (Aliyu) Sahabi, and two others.
According to sources, Mohammed Bashir (Govinda), the Chairman of the Tudun Wada, Zaria Butchers Association, was killed during the attack.
“The incident is believed to have been facilitated by an inside source,” stated Malam Musa Sahabi, a relative of two victims.
“The bandits traced the victims and went directly to their residences upon their return from the farm, calling out specific names,”
“This demonstrates a targeted abduction as they called out specific names.”
