Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for not releasing the results of the governorship elections held in Enugu and Abia states. In a statement released by the Obi-Datti Media Office in Abuja on Tuesday, Obi voiced his concern over the delay in releasing the results, which have been pending for over 48 hours. He noted that this delay is raising questions about the commission’s intent and the credibility of the election. Obi urged INEC to speed up their review process to alleviate the anxiety of Nigerians, particularly citizens of the two states. He expressed his disappointment that 48 hours after the elections were conducted, the commission is yet to resolve whatever issues are holding back the release of the results. He added that if electoral officials are committed to the integrity of the exercise, calculating the records from polling units should not be difficult.
